Aquisition and other property taxes
There is a Property Acquisition Tax of 3,75% of the agreed purchase price payable to the Government (that in turn passes on half of this amount to the respective commune). This is payable by the purchaser, separately from the payment to the seller, at the Notary Public's office at the time of the transaction. Payments of tax must be made by means of an Andorran banker’s cheque. The name/s of the new owner/s are notified by the government to your local commune.

All communes charge a small annual property rate in addition to the local rates and services charges. It is the rule that the installation of services such as electricity supply is subject to the issue of a certificate from the applicable Commune. All certification can be arranged through SERVISSIM.

Notarial fees
The cost of the Public Title Deed, is to the account of the purchaser. Extra charges – where applicable - are also payable by the purchaser for a bank's mortgage deed, as are powers of attorney. In passing it should be noted that the original of any deed is the one in the notary's protocol (classification). The copy that many clients wish to hold as proof of their deed is just that - a notarised copy. One copy is supplied (only to the parties to the transaction) at no extra charge on payment of the notary's fees. Further copies are chargeable.
